| WORK ENVIRONMENT
The first objective for Metal Bernard Inc. management is to “make a long-lasting positive difference in the life of its associates”. This goal can seem simplistic or unimportant in today’s corporate culture, but if we push our reflection on this subject a little further we quickly understand how this goal can lead to corporate success.
Harmonious working conditions give first-rate results and long-lasting effects. This is the viewpoint with which we make decisions. Employees are encouraged to share their point of view. The company’s vision is shared and evolves according to the challenges we meet and face together.
With 85 employees, the dynamic Metal Bernard Inc. team offers interesting social benefits, a group RRSP, an employee help program, sporting and social activities all centered on our associates. Metal Bernard Inc. offers clean and proper work surroundings, and a 5S committee works to improve the work environment and production flow. Once again, the entire team is asked for their input on any other improvement projects related to our Lean Manufacturing certification.
Shop employees also enjoy a quality-based bonus program. It’s a simple and objective way to redistribute cost-savings back to the employees. For promotions, Metal Bernard Inc. uses a job classification system that works according to competencies, attitude, presenteeism and seniority. It comprises tests carried out by employees where aptitudes are verified objectively.
Continuing training is also an important part of company objectives, so that all employees can evolve and take on new challenges at their job. Training is often done on-site to give employees more flexibility. Outside training is also necessary due to the specialized equipment we employ.
Modern offices, cutting-edge equipment, volleyball and hacky sack courts are just some of the ways to make the work environment more interesting. Our young, dynamic team is always encouraged to contribute.
The Metal Bernard Merit program rewards creative ideas made by any member of our team. The goal is to promote the development of work safety, the environment, productivity and product quality. An employee committee objectively evaluates the submitted improvements.
