HISTORY
Metal Bernard Inc. (the corporation) was incorporated in 1982. Its initial activities were the manufacturing of welded products and custom steel trailers. Over time, the corporation landed important contracts, allowing it to expand, to invest in higher performance equipment all while concentrating on increasing the sub-contracting business.
In 1995, the corporation made its first laser equipment acquisition. Following this initial acquisition, Metal Bernard Inc. continued to develop its laser cutting sub-contracting business principally for clients working in the rail and transport manufacturing industries. This growth was realized over time by the addition of new laser equipment and by the acquisition of CNC punch presses and bending machines in order to offer their clients a full-line outsourcing service. The objective was to offer a simple, efficient and economical way to transform steel, aluminum and stainless steel for clients looking for a complete solution.
In 1997, the corporation moved its activities to the Saint-Lambert de Lauzon industrial park. Since this move, the corporation has added three major expansions to its buildings that today cover a surface area of 47,400 square feet.

1997 construction of the new factory of 12 500 feet square
1998 square increase of 10 000 feet

2001 square increase 9 900 feet

2001 square increase of 15 000 feet
In order to better serve its existing and future clientele and having always been at the forefront of new manufacturing procedures, the shareholders of Metal Bernard Inc. decided in winter 2004 to establish CDMB, a new corporation that would specialize in water-jet cutting all while offering its parts-machining services.
The corporations took on the mission of positioning themselves as the only source for sheet metal, plastic, and shaping sub-contracting while emphasizing their value-added manufacturing methods and wide range of equipment. Strengthened by a strategic location and a dynamic and established workforce, the two corporations apply a human approach, open communication and continuing improvement to satisfy the needs of their clients.
The major investments taken on during the last two years were done taking into account the increasing needs for large orders and conform products, on-time delivery and ongoing improvement. These improvements were carried out following the Kaisen principle and through meetings between the employees of Metal Bernard Inc. and their clients.
Our passion for the trade is passed on through our work and our relationships with our clients and suppliers.
